Random Chatter

A few weeks ago I did a show at the Aloft Hotel's WXYZ in Minneapolis. It didn't go as well as I thought it should have being that I forgot some of the lyrics to my songs. I guess most people didn't even notice, but I did. I have a standard for myself. Ya dig??? NOTHING LESS THAN EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!! I fell far below that standard on that sad March day. Let's fast forward to last night at an open mic in St. Paul, shall we??? Me and MJ hit the stage and did a couple of tunes. The first tune was called "Dangerous". One of my favorite songs!!! The second was a tune called "Guaranteed Fresh" and boy were we FRESH!!! I love rapping and performing in front of people. I just felt it. I didn't need to feed off of the crowds energy (or lack there of). I created my own when the music came on. I shall tenetively name it... Xavergy. I had fun and that's what it's all about. I was ready do a full show!!! I really need to get some shows booked soon. Anyways, just thought I'd share that.

"I guess I got my swagga back, mama they say I killed the stage, well I guess I got the dagger back..."

Party in NYC!!!

So, somehow my Manager/Mother got in touch with Daylle Deanna Schwartz, an author who's books I've been reading on the music industry, and she personally invited us to her book release party at Bamboo 52 (a sushi restaurant) in Manhattan. I'm really exited to go and even though I will only be there for one day I understand that it can be a life changing experience. She is very popular in the music biz having interviewed many big names and she's even had her own career in rap music in the 80's. There will be tons of connections there (hopefully) and even if there aren't, Daylle is a big enough connection on her own. Our flight leaves tomorrow morning and I'll be headed to New York City on a jet plane with a pocket full of demo's and a heart full of courage!!!!

Fresh Kicks

I just bought a pair of these in black last night, but I'm definately gonna cop this color. I didn't know that Pf Flyers were out back in the 70's until the cashier had a story about them. Then I asked my dad if he's heard of them and he told me that he used to live by them as a kid.
